In 'Embers of Resilience,' my ceramic sculpture presents an anatomically correct heart, thrown on the wheel with modifications off of the wheel. This piece has undergone a transformative journey through the ancient art of wood firing, adding depth and character to its final form.

Inspiration for this artwork arose from the captivating allure of ancient tulip vases, which symbolize life and growth. I aimed to capture the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength, mirroring the unfurling tulip petals' vibrant beauty.

During its creation, this sculpture marked a turning point in my life. Emotionally and professionally, I confronted uncertainty, financial challenges, and contemplated my future. Pottery became my solace and guiding light amidst this turbulence.
